Field Trips |
Complementing
curriculum and exposing students to academic, religious and cultural
offerings, including visits to floating marine lab, science and cultural
museums, Missions, the Old Globe Theater, and opera. |

Parochial Athletic League |
A full schedule of
after-school sports are offered for both girls and boys in the middle and
upper grades and selected sports are available for primary grades.
Blessed Sacrament participates in the
Parochial Athletic League. |

programs include yearbook, scouting, dance, drama, karate, Spanish.

Under the auspices
of the Student Council and in conjunction with local high schools,

involvement as Altar Servers for students in grade 5-8, in Parish Youth
Group for grade 8 students, in Parish and community Social Ministries, in
local community parade and sponsored events. |

Fourth Grade
|
Fourth-graders enjoy
an overnight stay on the Star of India. This hands on experience teaches
students what life was like aboard the sailing vessel during the gold rush
period. |

Sixth Grade Camp |
Sixth-graders attend
1 week of camp where they explore and engage in action learning on the
environment |

Seventh Grade Science Fair |
All seventh-graders
participate in the Greater San Diego Science Fair at the school level;
winners go on to the city competition. |

Eighth Grade

Eighth graders
enjoy a variety of experiences that enhance their learning in ways to keep
them engaged in their final year; Specific events include:

Annual Retreat

2-1/2 days in the local mountains providing
an opportunity for Christian reflection, experiencing community and
growth in faith |

Foreign Language

All eighth-graders study Latin as part of
their curriculum |

"Shakespeare on
the Green" |
Studying and providing an annual outdoor
performance of one of Shakespeare's classics for school and parent
communities. |

Washington DC
Trip |
A Spring trip to our nation's capitol helps
our students to expand their knowledge of and appreciation for our
country's rich political and cultural heritage, Catholic contributions
to that heritage and exposure to our federal government at work today.
An active fundraising program helps finance their trip and provides
students with a meaningful lesson in planning and money management.
